IDByte 2015, the largest digital events in Indonesia, took place from 30th of September until the 2nd of October. The event was well attended and a number of high level officials and industry experts participated in the event, to mention a few:

  • Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information
  • Minister of Education
  • Bandung city mayor
  • C-level executives from IT and digital companies as well as leading Indonesian- and International companies attended and shared their thoughts.

Some of key messages from the speakers:

Handry Satriago, CEO of GE Indonesia, highlighted that creativity and innovation are key ingredients to survive in the market. GE will continue to lead the industry especially in industrial internet. This sector is taking off and more and more M2M solutions will be used in GE’s various industries.

Nadiem Makarim, founder of GoJek, shared his vision and experience on building GoJek company. Starting with simple vision to help the ojeg (motorcycle taxi) society in his neighborhood, he has helped more than 100 000 ojeg drivers to have a better life for themselves and their families. He proudly shared that his long-term vision is to increase the possibility of every Indonesian to have a job whatever skills they have. Currently the company has 150 000 partners (ojeg drivers) and in parallel they are working on several other projects – Go box, Go maid and Go massage. For more info on Gojek see BBC news.
